Your Health in Your Hands
Farmers Hands Market, Urban Agriculture in Jackson is a partnership between the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation and T.I.M.E. non-profit organization
Farmers Hands Market is a farm-to-fork initiative centered on
improving access to healthier, all-natural foods in urban areas,
through food production via Foot Print Farms and preparation in JMMF's Culinary Kitchen.
Farmers Hands Market is a part of JMMF's over-arching mission to eliminate healthcare disparities holistically, through the promotion of creativity and innovation.
Established in 2018, the JMMF Culinary Kitchen now operates in partnership with Foot Print Farms and is funded in part by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, sponsored by Humana. The kitchen is leased by local chefs and caterers.
Farmers Hands Market supports agribusiness through local
food hubs and farmers markets, through urban farming and
community gardening, through the use of the culinary kitchen and with the support of Community Supportive Agriculture (CSA) programs (Box memberships for seasonal fruits and
vegetables).
